The Convention will take place at an important time in planning, shaping, commissioning and delivering Youth Support Services. The Government has now published new statutory guidance on local authority services for young people and a framework of outcomes for young people.
Tim Loughton MP, Minister responsible for youth services, has confirmed that he will give the key-note address at the Convention, with a report one year-on from publication of the Government’s policy statement Positive for Youth. There will be key contributions from the Association of Directors of Children’s Services, National Youth Agency and Department for Education and the Department for Health, among others.
At the same time Local Authority Youth Support Service leaders will well along the road in designing the future direction of their services. The Convention will give insight and understanding of how this relates to other policy areas and services in Education, Health, Family and Community. It will give you the opportunity to take part in roundtable, panel discussions, and workshops to hear from and ask questions of experts in their field.
