Social Media and Internet Safety training course for Youth Practitioners and Managers

Event Description

Online Youth Outreach aims to help Children and Young Peoples services to address digital skill gaps and engage learners to reach their full potential in using digital technologies.  The aim of Online Youth Outreach social media training courses is not only to provide important information, but to provide proven digital skills and techniques participants can use immediately to engage and support children's and young people online engagement.

Online digital tools can offer a diverse range of opportunities to engage with young people and promote their participation in local youth services. Explore both how to support young people as they engage in these environments; and learn how to practically and creatively use social media and social networking to enhance the delivery of young people service(s). Objective of the training course is to enable delegates to create a practical online strategy to integrate into their work supported with a professional qualification to evidence their understanding and learning.  This training course is suitable for youth practitioners, teachers, social workers and respective managers (Statuary & Voluntary sector).   Experience has shown that even experienced practitioners who use social networks sites personally and professionally have gaps in their knowledge on how to edit and modify privacy and account settings.

Using Creative Assessment Tools for Practitioners at Attlee Youth & Community Centre, London E1

April 11, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
