The Future of EU Foreign Policy: An international Conference on the Political, Economic, and Cultural Dimensions of EU Foreign Policy

(International Conference, Berlin, 4th - 6th January, 2011)

www.icd-euforeignpolicy.org

As the world reflects on the process of German reunification and its impact on the evolution of the European Union, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy will hold "The Future of EU Foreign Policy: An International
Conference on the Political, Economic, and Cultural Dimensions of EU Foreign
Policy". The conference will bring together scholars and academics, civil
society practitioners, journalists, political and diplomatic representatives,
and other interested stakeholders for a three-day program of lectures and panel
discussions featuring renowned figures from international politics, diplomacy,
academia, and civil society. Cultural and social activities will complement the
academic components and provide an opportunity for participants to expand their
personal networks and experience Berlin's rich cultural landscape.

The recent 20th anniversary celebrations of the reunification of Germany presented an ideal opportunity to look back at the impact of this historical event on the
emergence of the European Union and the changing nature of international relations.
Whilst we are able to reflect on the past two decades with ever greater
clarity, the future remains ever more uncertain. "The Future of EU Foreign
Policy" will address this challenge.

"The Future of EU Foreign Policy" will look in detail at the development of an EU common foreign and security policy, the involvement of the EU in peacekeeping and
humanitarian activity, and how the EU's role in the world might development
over the coming two decades. Through constructive discussion and debate the conference
will provide best practice guidelines for current and future European leaders,
and will make policy recommendations at the local, national, and regional
levels.

Conference Participants

The conference is open to applications from young professionals, students and scholars, civil society practitioners, private sector representatives, journalists, and other
interested stakeholders from across the world.

The online application form can be found under:

http://www.culturaldiplomacy.org/cde/index.php?en_cde_conference-ap...

Speakers

The speakers during the Seminar will include leading figures and experts from international politics, academia, the diplomatic community, civil society and
the private sector, from across the world. These speakers will include a number
of individuals from the ICD Advisory Board (for further information about the
Advisory Board please
click
here
).

Certificate of Attendance

All conference participants will be awarded an official certificate of attendance at the end of the program. This certificate will confirm attendance and provide
details of the speakers who took part during the program and the topics
discussed.

Participant Papers

The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy encourages research and progressive thought into the fields of culture, globalization and international relations. In this regard, the ICD
welcomes participants of the Conference to submit papers on this subject. The
papers can cover any topic within these fields, according to your own
particular interests and passions. Participants can submit work that they have
completed in the past for other purposes, ongoing research or a paper written
specifically for the conference. Groups of students are also allowed to submit
collaborative pieces of work.

Sustainable Network

Conference participants will become part of a growing international network of people from across the world with different fields of interest and levels of experience,
who share a commitment to intercultural exchange. Participants will be able to
remain in touch with each other through the ICD Online Network. This network
represents a medium through which members can exchange information on research,
job opportunities, related events, and coordinate their own cultural exchange
initiatives. The ICD will help to support the participants in their future
activities by providing guidance and advice on possible research topics and
helping to support members who plan to organize their own cultural exchange
initiatives.

Using Creative Assessment Tools for Practitioners at Attlee Youth & Community Centre, London E1

April 11, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
BackgroundOne of the challenges of assessment processes with young people is how to secure their involvement and active participation. Only too often assessment can become something that is ‘done’ to young people (or a form that needs  to be filled in), rather than a dynamic process that puts them at the centre, something theyare involved with and have some ownership over. The assessment tools called ‘CAF Cards’  and ‘Road Sign Cards’ have been developed with young people to work with the…See More
