General Election - encouraging young people to participate via our website

I decided that we needed an element on our website about the upcoming general election to inform our young people (and other interested parties) about how to vote and who they could vote for. You can find out what we've put together on the election for prospective Parliamentary candidates in Somerset either here: http://gesomerset2010.weebly.com/index.html or via our website:…See More

hi Emily, nice to meet you. I dont find it that exciting to be honest. I use facebook alot and I noticed there is chat facility on here too. However since I have been on here no one seems to use the chat lol. I am studying my NVQ 2 in youthwork and when I found the site I though it would be a good way to meet others who also work with young people. I have been able to meet a few people on here including yourself which is excellent. I am finding alot of questions on my course that I dont understand. My initial reaction to coming on here was to meet others and ask for some help in understand the questions i have. I am volunteering for a christian organisation working with young women aged 16 plus who have been abused or have been homeless. I thorghouly enjoy it. xxxx

Using Creative Assessment Tools for Practitioners at Attlee Youth & Community Centre, London E1

April 11, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
BackgroundOne of the challenges of assessment processes with young people is how to secure their involvement and active participation. Only too often assessment can become something that is ‘done’ to young people (or a form that needs  to be filled in), rather than a dynamic process that puts them at the centre, something theyare involved with and have some ownership over. The assessment tools called ‘CAF Cards’  and ‘Road Sign Cards’ have been developed with young people to work with the…See More
