Jennifer Bertram replied to Sarah Howes's discussion Where are we heading? in the group Researching Youth Engagement in a Digital Age
"Hello, I think online youth work has a huge potential, but I think how it is presented to young people depends on it's success. Another thing to think about is what are we trying to offer with online youth work, is it a way of accessing young…"

Profile Information

Brief bio: tell us a few facts about you & your interest in digital aspects of work with young people
I enjoy getting away during my spare time and try to go snowboarding as often as I can.

I am currently a youth development co-ordinator, doing detached work, with Wiltshire Council. I am interested in finding/developing ways that youth workers can work online with young people and how social network sites can have an effect on this. I am also interested how social network sites or other sites can engage with young people who live in rural and remote areas or those that do not have access to a youth centre.

Tony Brown replied to Mildred Talabi's discussion Email marketing - how do you do yours?
"Hi Mildred. I currently use Awebber for my email campaigns. It's a paid service, but after my research, it seemed to be the best option for me. I also have a mail chimp account, but I have never used it. Awebber was not too difficult to set…"

Using Creative Assessment Tools for Practitioners at Attlee Youth & Community Centre, London E1

April 11, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
BackgroundOne of the challenges of assessment processes with young people is how to secure their involvement and active participation. Only too often assessment can become something that is ‘done’ to young people (or a form that needs  to be filled in), rather than a dynamic process that puts them at the centre, something theyare involved with and have some ownership over. The assessment tools called ‘CAF Cards’  and ‘Road Sign Cards’ have been developed with young people to work with the…See More
