Brief bio: tell us a few facts about you & your interest in digital aspects of work with young people
LifeSupport: Change Through Art is a competition, run by charity YouthNet and their online guide to life thesite.org. Owned and run by online charity, YouthNet, TheSite.org provides advice and guidance to help you deal with financial issues – or anything else you’re going through. We thought the competition might be of interest to your members, if they want to enter or know somebody that might - or just have a look at our entries so far.

What has the recession meant to you?

Create a photograph, film or comic that represents what the recession means to you and you could win £1000* and have your work judged by the MD of Saatchi Design Ashley Goodall, Turner Prize nominee Yinka Shonibare and Comic illustrator Jamie McKelvie.

Shortlisted and winning artwork will appear on the online guide to life for 16-25s, TheSite.org, and be displayed at an awards event in London. *The winner will receive any prize of their choice; as long as it’s related to their field of art; to the value of £1000 and three runners up win prizes of their choice to the value of £300. Be it a course or equipment, competition sponsor Egg and the Citi Foundation will purchase the prize on your behalf if you successfully impress our judges!
That’s your lot I’m afraid. The deadline for new entries has now passed. Thank you to all those who entered, we have thoroughly enjoyed receiving your handiwork, and we’re over the moon that so many of you have entered.

Don't forget there is still time to vote for your favourite entry here!

Time's up!

Please put down your pencils, your time is now up.
That’s your lot I’m afraid. The deadline for new entries has now passed. Thank you to all those who entered, we have thoroughly enjoyed receiving your handiwork, and we’re over the moon that so many of you have entered.

It’s now over to the judges, who will be ‘umming and ahhhing’ over the next few weeks, deciding which photos, illustrations and videos to put through to the shortlist stage. Those that are shortlisted will be notified by May 14 and will be invited to attend our glitzy evening event at the London Design Museum on May 25; where your work will be displayed and the winners announced! We’re all very excited about the evening – we’ve got some brilliant surprises in store!

Now that the entry stage has ended, we’d really like your feedback on how it went. So if you’ve got a few minutes, please fill in our online feedback survey. It’ll only take a few minutes and will help us to make our future activities even better. It should take five minutes at the max.

What if your entry hasn’t appeared on the website yet?

If you got your entry in before the deadline and it hasn’t yet appeared on the LifeSupport website, don’t worry. We’ll be working through the backlog over the weekend, and your entry will appear on the site on Tuesday and be judged with all the others. If you’re worried, just send an email to lifesupport@youthnet.org.

Good luck to all those who have entered.

Ollie and the team at TheSite.org

Using Creative Assessment Tools for Practitioners at Attlee Youth & Community Centre, London E1

April 11, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
BackgroundOne of the challenges of assessment processes with young people is how to secure their involvement and active participation. Only too often assessment can become something that is ‘done’ to young people (or a form that needs  to be filled in), rather than a dynamic process that puts them at the centre, something theyare involved with and have some ownership over. The assessment tools called ‘CAF Cards’  and ‘Road Sign Cards’ have been developed with young people to work with the…See More
