Help researching online youth activism

Hi all I am looking for help contacting 16-25 year olds who are interested in online activism, to help me with a research project for my MA in European Youth Work at the University of Bedfordshire.  Participants might just vote in polls or share articles, or they could host forums and run campaigns.  It would be great if you were able to help me distribute the research link or help me find any groups or individuals who may be interested in participating. The link is: …See More

Not really a blog, but..

As said this isn't really a blog, but thought I post it anyway in case anyone is interested. It's minutes from our first meeting on using SNS in Medway with some research we have carried out with various groups. Its early days, so would appreciate any comments / feedback. I appreciate we could seem a little over cautious with the measures to prove identity etc - however this was a key concern for nearly all the young people we have spoken to so we wanted to put a fair amount of thought into… Continue

Haven’t done a blog before and thought I'd give it a go...

Saw this and thought people might be interested.

Our council is working on our website for promoting positive activities and is at the collating stage (not part of the above pilot). I have been fairly sceptical mainly because although I could see a good site being developed, I didn't see young people… Continue

Hey Roy

Welcome to the network. We've been basing a lot of the discussions around outreach work with young people online on the idea of detached youth work - so will be great to have your contributions...

Give me a shout if any ways we can help to promote the group you've set up for FDYW...

All the best

Tim

"Hi Mildred. I currently use Awebber for my email campaigns. It's a paid service, but after my research, it seemed to be the best option for me. I also have a mail chimp account, but I have never used it. Awebber was not too difficult to set…"

Using Creative Assessment Tools for Practitioners at Attlee Youth & Community Centre, London E1

April 11, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
BackgroundOne of the challenges of assessment processes with young people is how to secure their involvement and active participation. Only too often assessment can become something that is ‘done’ to young people (or a form that needs  to be filled in), rather than a dynamic process that puts them at the centre, something theyare involved with and have some ownership over. The assessment tools called ‘CAF Cards’  and ‘Road Sign Cards’ have been developed with young people to work with the…See More
