Paid opportunity with YouthNet – youth work training facilitator needed for session this Saturday (3rd Nov)

What’s the project?

Our Leaders are a diverse group of 16-25 year-olds (from all over the UK) who help develop our flagship website TheSite.org. As well as being part of an online network, they also meet four times a year to participate in team activities and receive training to develop their digital and team working skills.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone in the field of youth work who has significant experience delivering workshops for young people.

We’d like you to lead a two-hour session at our next leaders even this Saturday 3rd November 11:30-1:30pm.

What will the session entail?

The session aims are:

-To help Leaders recognise their own knowledge skills and talents as well as those of their peers.

- To help Leaders link these to their role within TheSite.org network.

We want the session to:

  • Boost the self-esteem of participants
  • Boost confidence in relation to team working
  • Be fun!

Where will it take place?

We have the space for this at YouthNet’s offices near Old Street tube. The address is First floor, 50 Featherstone Street, London, EC1Y 8RT.

Payment?

We have budget to pay a half-day rate, plus expenses.

Interested?

Please contact Helen Williams by email Helen.williams@youthnet.org or call 0207 250 5735 asap.

Thanks for all the interest in this session, we've now found someone for it  and will see if I can get a young person to blog about it and come and post back afterwards. :)

Using Creative Assessment Tools for Practitioners at Attlee Youth & Community Centre, London E1

April 11, 2013 from 9:30am to 4:30pm
BackgroundOne of the challenges of assessment processes with young people is how to secure their involvement and active participation. Only too often assessment can become something that is ‘done’ to young people (or a form that needs  to be filled in), rather than a dynamic process that puts them at the centre, something theyare involved with and have some ownership over. The assessment tools called ‘CAF Cards’  and ‘Road Sign Cards’ have been developed with young people to work with the…See More
